Dr. Martens 101

Dr. Martens 101 is not seen every day. The 101 model features 6 lace holes. They are ankle sneakers that are slightly lower than the Doc Martens 1460. Originally, Martens were functional footwear for German army doctors. Dr. Maertens needed sturdy shoes to better treat his skiing injury. The shoes caught on. The company was acquired by English owners in the 1960s. Production was moved to Britain, and the Dr. Martens brand became an English national treasure.
